| About FighterGirls.com |
FighterGirls.com was founded on May 6, 2001 by Debi Purcell,
a professional Mixed Martial Artist and
pioneer for the sport of Women's MMA. Female fighting has been slow to start and
finding a place amongst the male warriors has sometimes been a struggle. Thanks to
many people, women have come a long way and you will find them fighting in most MMA
shows in America and Japan. Most of the general public still does not understand what
the sport of Mixed Martial Arts is about, so you are encouraged to look through the site
and not only educate yourself on the sport of MMA, but to see that the females are
doing their part, to help the sport evolve. FighterGirls.com was created to help the
women of the sport network with each other and to offer a place for the promoters to
find female fighters. This site is dedicated to the female warriors, whether their sport
is MMA, Boxing, Kickboxing, Grappling, or Wrestling, all deserve respect and acknowledgment.
FighterGirls.com also provides a place for movie or TV producers to find females to
appear in their shows. Agents and producers typically have a hard time finding women
fighters that can actually fight.
FighterGirls.com has collaborated with Alpha-Female Fight Wear
to offer a female fighter line of training apparel to go with our growing selection of shirts.
We will also be offering FighterGirl training equipment in the near future.
FighterGirls.com is not meant to segregate MMA between females and males. We have the utmost
respect for the male fighters in this sport. We are just trying to make it a bit easier for the
girls! |
