Good Girl…you should always do what I tell you. 😈

…and I will leave my comments about the match out of this thread until some others comment…you’ve already heard them anyway.

    Beginners matches are always difficult.
    Congrats on the win!
Damn your opponent needs to practise more.
Her movement is so slow and you can see from a mile away what she is going to do (not much).
If you have put more non-stop offence on her, she would probably give up or go KO.

I guess i should also point out that i’m not really trying to hurt the girl, she gave up 20lbs to do the match with me so we could get some ring experiance and I promised her coaches wife that I wouldnt hurt her so I am going about 60-70% with the power and aggression (you can see me back off her a few times after i bend her over with some body shots). I’m also wearing 16oz sparring gloves and she’s wearing 10oz competition gloves.

I didnt really want to do such a drastic mis-match but my girlfriend was slated to fight on the same card so we decided to do it despite the weight differance. I did expect the skill level to be a little closer though. (i’ve only been training a few months longer then her). The ref told me between rounds “please dont kill the poor girl”…gotta do what the ref says, yanno? 😉

I will say that my opponent has an surprising ammount of tenacity. I was impressed that she actually not only came out for all three rounds but continued to stand and engage with me despite being drastically outmatched and slightly bloodied by the third round.

Yes I could see that, I can understand that you were not completly happy about the match.
But great learning experience, also for her.
Don’t you girls hate to wear headprotection?
    I hate to wear those.
    Is it obliged?

I really don’t like head gear for the most part, but for amateur matches you have to wear it for your first ten matches. After that, it’s optional (same goes for shin guards)

Crisp, accurate jabs…..punishing (even with l6 oz. gloves) body punches…..skillful 2 and 3 punch combinations…..all the while holding back, not fighting at 100%. Anna T. was definitely well prepared for her public debut.

Her opponent deserves praise also – took plenty of punishment and courageously continued fighting.

I was really impressed with your boxing- you kick well but you can see that boxing is your base and your footwork and combos were very nice indeed.

    First 10 matches?
    damn!
Not here in Netherlands, headgear is only obliged for minors under 16 years in kickboxingmatches and maybe in some amateur boxing for adults.
Only when two parties agreed to do that.

I think that AnnaTrocity would have a weight advantage, so I figured it would be best to have Jan “Stick-n-Move.”

Conserable attention has been devoted in this forum to AnnaTrocity. Fully deserved.

However, no comment about the video of Ashly’s fight. While the visual quality was not at good as AnnaT’s, the contest was well worth watching. Appreciate having had the opportunity.

There a line on Ashly’s post that says approximately this:
Memphis result – KO 1 side body kick
Did Ashly KO that opponent or was she the fighter KO’d?

Ashley notes that on march 25 she’s going to compete in Washington…In Washington DC or the state of Washigton?

Had never heard of a fighter achieving a KO – as Ashly did – with a kick to the opponent’s liver. Would not think it happens frequenly.

Undoubtedly receiving a forceful kick to one’s liver is an experience to be avoided. Is it a technique or attack that fighters ordinarily practice?

In that fight, it looked like the other girl did not won’t to be there.
She was flailing wildly…got hit once and stayed down.
It didn’t look like she shouldn’t have been in the ring in the first place.

Angela Restad!!! Have either of you seen her fight!!! I would let you borrow my Hook-n-Shoot Revolution DVD but I STILL can’t find it. AAARRRGGGHHHHH!!! The “Angela Restad -vs- Mayra Conde” fight was the best fight on the entire disc…awesome.

These upcoming fights are in Washington, I hope Genelle Marquez is on the card. If she is there tell here I said, “Hi.” Reminder that I am just a big fan Image and that I’m not a stalker. 😈
