From her report, Adrienna had mount on Cantwell when her right eye socket broke down. She went blind in that eye and had to verbally submit.

Yes, AJ had an injury to that eye before. She was really suprised because she knows she wasn’t hit in the face at all, she just lost sight. She said she felt good, but couldn’t see. She’s fine now, but dissapointed that she couldn’t fight the fight she wanted. She really wanted that win and trained hard for it.

It sucked!!! I go to the doctors today, my family and taemtes were really concerned, it really seems fine now, almost like nothing ever happened. That eye socket is broken from my fight in january, at the time, the doctors said it was healing just fine. During sparring, where i acually get hit in the eye, it has never gave me problems. I was talking to jens, and he thinks the prefight nerves might have made me “overheat”, sounds logical. He says that sometimes poeple get so worked up before the fight that they can black out. I dont think i was that nervous, but when my eye just gave out, it made me panic. I coulndnt even speak untill the ref. called in a doctor. It seems like i am having bad karma in the mma game!, my eye juat aint having it… 😕 , if i get the okay from the specialist today and it stays alright during training, ill be on the hooknshoot card., I am still very disapionted with the loss, i really did not even get to work any standup during the fight, and everything was over so fast. Jens says that thinks like this happen sometimes, the best you can do is say you did your best and look foward, seems like good advice.
aloha!!! And i am excited to meet everyone in november.

Well i might be in the minority but I would think your sight is more important than playing with MMA. Why not get healed and take up another hobby for a bit?

you know, i totally agree with what you are saying, and i could see where this would be of extreme importance. It is really smart to to take that time off to let your body or mind heal, and i am fully aware of this, more than i am thinking about taking another step into my gym, or a ring. But i would hate to look at mixed martial arts as just a hobby seeing of how much fighters commit there lives to it. So, like i said earlier, only if i get an okay from a specialist, and an okay from my instructors as well, then thats when i would be considering taking up mma agian. I see a specailist today, and ill be talking to my coach tonight. Thank you for the advice, that makes total sense.

Well, though it might sound like semantics, but…

if you are not a professional fighter where 100% of your income comes from this and you can’t do anything else, professionally, or..

You are not a member of Special Forces, then…

    it is a hobby.

I bet you are far cuter without wearing a pirate eye patch for the rest of your life.
