    From mma.tv:
“Amanda Buckner formerly of Boulder and currently fighting out of Maine defeated Shayna Baszler with an armbar for the Ring of Fire championship Women’s professional MMA title at 4:28 of the first round.”
-Ill be the first to give anyone props due for making it close to one round with amanda:); congrats again to both ladies- I really hope to see more of shayna; she is a sweet person and a talented fighter.

Hey everyone, I just gotta say, Amanda is the shiznit! I had a BLAST fighting her. I felt REALLY good the entire fight, just made one little mistake and, like a seasoned pro, she jumped on it. She is very very cool. Most important, I think we put on a great fight. Like always, everyone said the women’s fight was the fight of the night. Had a blast and Sven puts on a great show.

    Congrats Amanda,
I felt your frusteration in reading your interview, and I fully understand, But I think some great opportunities will present themselves to you in the near future, so hang in there.

    AJ,

There are some photos up at mmaweekly.com that are pretty good. Here’s a quick play by play. After a short exchange on the feet I went to throw an inside kick with my lead leg and at the same time Shayna threw a rear leg kick which basicly had the effect of knocking me on my ass. I tried to get back to standing but Shayna was pressing in pretty hard so I got my full guard where I immediately went for an arm bar, she pulled out, I switched to triangle. She did a great job of defending the triangle. I finally got it locked up well and she started to pull her head out so I switched back to arm bar. She shook me off and I kind of rolled over to a turtle position where she took my back. I defended and came out on top in half guard, she got her full guard, I stood up and landed a pretty solid punch, she swept me and I recovered to half guard (almost got mounted for one scary moment), then to full guard then to the arm bar for the finish. I don’t like playing so much of a guard game because I think that ends up being boring alot of times but it wasn’t in this case because we were both pretty active. As usual the womens fight was thought by many to be the fight of the night.
I don’t have anything coming up right now. I’ve been training for a fight since August so I’m taking the holidays off to let myself heal up a bit.
