Are there any girls that weigh between 165-185? Is that even a weight class. I hate to sound ignorant but Im not too keen on the weight classes. I just dont see girls that weigh in that range so I wonder if I do decide to compete, will there or are there girls in that weight range? 🙂

there are a bunch of girls around that weight and higher. When we went to WAKO, the most populated female weight class was the 155lb+ and most of the girls were between 185lbs-220lbs.

If you look through the fighters database on this site you’ll see a bunch of women around 165lbs.

There are different weight classes for different sports. Like for MMA it’s typically 115, 125, 135 and 140 and above. For jiujitsu tournaments, often there’s a range: like 115 and under, 115 to 125, 125 to 135, 135-145, and then like open. I’ve seen a 145 to 160 once I think…. but it’s tough to make categories since there used to not be a lot of women competing, but now maybe they’ll make universal ones. Don’t ask me who “they” are, lol 😆

At the NAGA tournament I was at, the weight classes for women were 135-/+

Same for the WFC in Kentucky (which led to some odd matchups).
