Looks like Karina Taylor pulled out of the Feb 1st Tuff-n-uff match vs. Kaitlin. They are looking for a quick replacement.

This is a shame. I hope they find a replacement – hopefully someone who has been training hard and will put up a good fight. I was really looking forward to seeing what kind of female talent Randy’s gym is producing, though. 🙁

    kaitlin can fight..

    but her bjj is suspect…

..if i was a tomato can
,,this is how i would fight her..
    stay back
wait for a clinch..dont take her down..
    just clinch move behind her
    and see how she reacts
    will she force herself down
will she ..move to free herself.
will she work a strike or submission..
as for me..i would work the close space on the fence..with a crucial uppercut..or a crucial..elbow…

…BUT who am i….I AM just a tomato can???? lol))))))))))))).

I wouldn’t say that her BJJ is suspect, she just hasn’t shown it yet.

I can say, I can say! 😆 Just saw this posted on ADCC News. I’m not sure how wise it is for Tonya to take on 2 such tough opponents in just 1 week, but I guess we’ll see how it plays out for her. Oh, and it says that Kaitlin’s record is 3-0, but I was thinking it’s 4-0 with 4 ko’s. Anyway, here’s the post:

    Is that true?

I wouldn’t have thought Tonya would be allowed to fight a week before fighting on another promotion? Because if she gets injured (cut or something) then she cannot fight the other fight.
Wouldn’t there be something in the contract?

I don’t know these things though, just thinking out loud.

imo it should be dependent on how the first fight goes. if it is quick either way submission or very little damage then a second fight that quick is no biggie. if it’s a war with any injury then it is not a fair test for anyone. the promoter should prob have a backup fighter avail. there are still same night multiple fight tournaments (which that format is kinda lame) but in this case a week gives Tonya at least a bit longer to recover if she needs to…

true. Sorry I didn’t realise until I just re-read the thread that the Julie vs Tonya fight is BEFORE the possible Kaitlin fight.
So, she might be good to fight the second fight.

It sucks for you kaitlin not knowing who your opponent is or whether you will be fighting…I’m sure you are staying as focused as possible though. Good luck. Kick ass!

    Tuff-N-Uff just posted this:
“The Nevada rules state that a fighter must wait 4 days per round to fight to compete, so the only way we could have Tonya is if she wins in the first round and not get injuired.

We feel we found a very formidable opponent: Sarah Schneider:

I think it definitely makes more sense to schedule an opponent that you know can fight, rather then having to sit back and hope the Julia/Tonya fight lasts only 1 round. Anyway, Sarah appears to be a pretty solid fighter with a 2-0 Pro record and 5-0 amateur record. Here is her MySpace page link:

    From Tonya’s post-fight interview:

“TE: I was ready either way, I just wanted to end it fast, I have another fight
lined up in Vegas in few weeks.”

So, who’s it going to be? Tonya or Sarah?

Well, it looks like she gets to knockout Sarah in bodogFIGHT and then knockout Tonya in EliteXC. Check out Sam’s article for ProElite:

Thers no doubt about a lot of promotions are now interested in Kaitlin Young, 4 straight KO/TKO winning . EliteXC must be the best choice for her to get big $, or chance to be a National Star like that TV star EliteXC has now.

But still i have some kind of feeling of doubt for the treatment of EliteXC`s female division. Match up of Julie vs. Tonya was good one, but it was in ShoXC show. not EliteXC.

Shayna still doesnt get the chance to fight their TV star, debi got treated like sh*t b4, seems they did it to Amanda as well. Tara didnt accept their offer. what do those mean?

Anyways, Kaitlin is still a new commer. needs more experiences of tough competitions of MMA like top fighters have had. I hope she and her management/coachs will chose proper ways to be a REAL MMA star.

BTW, Sam Caplan is the lead writer/editor of ProElite, but his ideas are not same with the Office of ProElite/EliteXC. seems he has freedom to criticize EliteXC, actually he does it sometimes. Recently, he has named Tara, Amanda and Roxanne as the fighters EliteXC should sign to improve their female division. If EliteXC takes Non-Exclusive contracts, its easy. They just need to call bodogFIGHT and make partnership like HDnetFights and IFL, authorize Tara`s bodoFIGHT 135 lbs Female World Title.

    edit and add

Just have finished to watch the last week insideMMA on their site. They upload their programs to google video officially. I have to say its great idea of them.

    inside MMA last week

its almost 1 hour program. watch Lucia Rijker was emphasizing the exposure in the group not personal to attract casual fans or common ppl, maybe its from her experience in kickboxing and boxing.

I remember her fight against male MuayThai fighter was aired here in Japan on TV as news at that time. its was on NHK or old TBS and very serious touch. Telling why she fights male MuaiThai(Lack of smile), and the thought of that MuayThai guy from Thailand. Of course she got KOed but the program showed her strong will and challenge.

P.S. OMG whats going on? Sherdog radio Jordan Breen show`s guest is Kaitlin 😯

Problem is – EliteXC don’t have a 135 lb division.
