    Hi everyone 😀

I have my first BJJ fight in two weeks time, I registered today and I’m starting to feel kind of nervous 😛

Just kind of wanted to share the butterflies with you 😀 and also ask if anyone has any tips for something that’s important/good to think of before/during a fight?

how was your first fights? Fun? Nervous? Very unlike sparring?

    just curious 8)

    Take care!

    Hi there,

Good luck with your match. You think of it as another day of training, but this time, you get to let out what you’ve been holding back. Relax but not too much.

I had my first BJJ matches after three months of training and my 1st opponenet had been training for a few years. To my suprise I arm barred her in less than a minute. You never know…

It’s not bad to be nervous. It’s when I’m not nervous that I do poorly. The nervousness keeps you on your toes, ready to make you work harder, but make sure you don’t get too stiff. Before my matches, no matter what martial art, I always visualize myself beating my opponant in various ways.
