    Hey Greta,

Kelly won with a great strategy by just holding on for 3 rounds with a few foot stomps thrown in for good measure. Which was great to get the “win” but bad for the fans who wanted to see “ACTION”.

She shut down your attack. The crowd kept shouting to the ref to break it up. The rules must be vague about how long a tie up can go on standing on the feet.

Thank you! That means so much coming from the both of you!
I worked so hard on staying relaxed in my training, because I would blow up alot in the gym. ( due to the stress of the everyday training grind) So it was implanted in my brain to stay calm. I felt I missed opportunities to explode. – Live and Learn- What pains me is the fact I will never get a rematch. I know I wont.

You really made a LOT of fans that night.

It looked like you did the best you could with what you had. It’s hard to explode when your opponent is stuck to you like glue.

Rematch could happen if a title is involved. Who knows, with more women in that division it could happen.

Yeah, you deffenitly picked the crowed up that night. There where all raising you up on their shoulders. Dont always worry about the W becuause as you can see, she got booed and you got cheered.

There is a quote I like to remind myself of from time to time …..

“Winning is not always about beating someone, its about leaving an impression”

    And THAT you did!

Thats just it, who else can I fight? I can fight down at 155, after that I have to cut off limbs. I hope this sport grows enough for me to have oppents. Any advice on getting fights for myself? I dont know how to go about it.

All you really have to do it throw your name out there more. Thats how I did it ….. well kinda. Most promotions got my name from when I can in as an under dog and beat the 3 time world champ but was rapped of the championship. The crowd there was kinda like it was for you at HnS.

ANYWAY, grapple more! It will give you a chance to fight and release your name without getting hurt. Im the mean time, check around for promotions and email them and see if they have a spot open on their card for you to fight. Pretty easy stuff actually.

    Also,

I don’t have any witty quotes but since I am no longer fighting I will share with you the prayer that I would say before I entered the ring.

My prayer before entering the ring:”Dear Lord, if I can not be the best fighter in the ring tonight, please dear Lord, let me be the best looking.”

(this message will be deleted tomorrow when I wake up and realize that someone will probably be offended by this joke)

Greta so many guys were complimenting how you looked like a model. And then you stepped into the ring ready to kick some serious butt and they were even more impressed.

    – I train at Triton muay thai with Richard Kostuck and Adrian Serrrano`s freestyle- I love it, its my home, we have some great guys to roll with. We are open seven days a week, holidays included.
So if any off you fighters come to town message me please, I would love to have other women to work out with.

Kornelius- “That was you!” I remember that, and now its a joke among us. We randomly yell that at inappropriat times at other fights. 😮

Oh! I would love to see Marie “fight”! 😈 I think she would be a crowd pleaser too. Lets all go and turn the Arnolds out! Jan has to be there, she owes me a T-shirt.
Let`s train really hard and go make a great impression. I want other women to see us and say” I wanna do that”. Thats how it happened with me.

Daaaanng, happy to see you all want me to fight. Thats awesome 😳

I have been at the Arnolds every year for the last 10 years. This is an event that I WILL NOT MISS. Even when I am not fighting, I am there. Its just a great weekend all together.

As far as fighting in HnS at the Arnolds ….. as I remember, this was for only AM fighters. I fight PRO. I am usually upstairs woopin ass on the grappling mats on Sunday evening/night.

I cant wait to see you all there and to hang out. I will be staying this year until Monday so that I can party more after my fight on Sunday. Anyone want a shot? 😉

yeah there is a lot of confusion about that so ill try to clarify.
michael patt (biz representative and was jan’s cornerman for the evolution show) is running an amateur tournament MMA event arnold weekend. anybody who knows some girls who want to wet their feet, it will be a good show.
however, there will also be a professional mixed Hook N Shoot card that weekend. that was the one i was referring to. if anyone has any questions they can feel free to get at me and ill scrounge the details up. also, i will secure the shirt you speak of, greta, if jan isnt there. peace easy, homeslizzles.

Sweet, I didnt know there was going to be a pro event as well. The Arnolds really needs to extend there tournament weekend for another day. There is just WAY to much stuff going on for a 3 day weekend!

As of right now I have my goals set on winning the grappling at the Arnolds. This might be my chance to face fighters that I have wanted a rematch against or have wanted to fight in the first place.

As far as MMA, look for me fighting some time in May or June.

that’s cool, because to go fight one girl and beat her up isnt the same as having to outgrapple 6 or 7, maybe more…the arnold brackets are always stacked and that would be an awesome win. im one of those people that has about a bazillion 2nd place medals so i feel you on wanting a big grappling competition win.

The HnS show is going to be friday night from what I have heard, so it shouldn’t interfere with the grappling tourney. As far as I know I will be there, fighting, grappling or both… and hopefully no hospital trips this time.

I’m stoked as hell that ya’ll are going to be there… it’ll be a blast! 8) …and if I’m not mistaken I think Marie wants a rematch from a long time ago in a NAGA far far away…LOL. Snap standing guillotine Marie? Call me I got all kindsa weired news for ya.

Jules good luck! Git ‘er done! Where are you fighting Kelly at?
Greta, I got my name out through grappling tournaments. I competed on 21 different tournaments in 2001 alone, and that’s how I got people to notice me, light weight, heavy weight, womens, mens… it’s a lot of traveling though everywhere from NY to FLA and all the way out to Nashville, and Indianapolis. It also really helps you refine your game too.

    check ya’ll later,

    😆 😀 8)

Well well well …….. we finally heard a word from the dark side …… WAD UP L-A-R-O-S-A!!!! 😛

I heard the mma was on Sunday night. I was pretty bumed about that cause I wanted to watch and also fight in grappling. I’ll be pretty stoked if mma is on Friday night like Tara is saying.

    TARA,

“As far as I know I will be there, fighting, grappling or both… and hopefully no hospital trips this time.”

    #1, You better be there
#2, Are you sure we cant make just ONE trip to the hospital? Even if it is just to visit and then we can leave?? Last I heard, they where handing out brownies at the check in counter!! 😉
#3, The rematch from NAGA was actually like 2 weeks after the Arnolds when I fought Leka. And I can also do a rematch from the NAGA as well. 😀
#4, Snap standing guillotine? I remember you TRYING to get it, but I can’t quite remember the actual choke ….. werid …. 😈
#5, The only reason why I was able to spell the word “guillotine”, was cause you gave me the spelling in your giberish above. Tank ya!!
#6, Ya know I love ya Tara! 😀
#7, Yes, I will give you a call. Got to go train tonight and then I gotta date! Ha ha!! A guy I just started talking to at like 6 this morning. When a pimp is on the move …… there aint not stoppin her! 8) I’ll call you up tomorrow afternoonish.

To everyone else ………. WHATS UP

Wait wait wait …….. have to check myself ……. TARA, where you looking to see if I wanted a rematch in the match or at the bar?? If you are ….. Im ready for both! Cause if I remember clearly …… you got SMOKED at the bar LOL!

To all of you that dont know ……. Tara is deffenitly a trooper. Yes, she did get smoked at the bar by me, but the next day she fought in the gi half of the tournament throwing up between each of her matches and the ref had to hold her up while she was tieing her belt. HANGOVER IN A HALF! I would have deffenitly stayed in bed that morning. Oh yeah, she took first that day too.

Kellyn- are you fighting san shou or mma?

Rox, the Gracie Worlds have both gi and no-gi divisions as well as a Pro no gi event. Kirik was at the event last year with the naga table. Looks like this year is the first for mma, both Pro and amateur. In the past they’ve had san shou (chinese kickboxing) and I’m curious if they are having it again in addition to mma or if the full contact event is solely mma.

Here is the link for the gracie worlds from last year:  There are so many things to see and do at the Arnold’s, you have the fitness expo: and the Arnold Classic a bodybuilding competition:

Cash, I was being nice when I was sparring! Even when I spar I seem to be layed back. Maybe a little to much.

Greta ….. you are deffenitly more than welcome to come and cause trouble with us. Just remember, once you go Marie and Tara …. you dont go back! 8) We as indivuals are twisted ….. us as a pair ….. well .. lets just say hell is our home and the devil is our leader. lol! 😈

Last year they had both PRO and Am no gi.

    LMAO… YA’LL’R CRACKHEADS! 8)

Roxi, you should come, the pro division is a good tourney. This is gonna be great.

BE FOREWARNED EVERYONE: This tourney is NOT run like NAGA or GrapplersQuest, you may sit around for 5-8 hours waiting for your division that will be “getting underway shortly” 🙄 …..plus mostly Brazilian refs that talk on cell phones and or carry on a conversation with someone off the mat while reffing your match. For those of you with no patience…DON’T COME! It can be very high stress if you let it get to you.

Greta! The flight back was ok, I had a nice layover in Philly (awsome airport) and got back at like 8pm. I’m a huge advocate of the ground game in MMA, unfortunately for me it out weighs my stand up game by a good deal.

Yes I will surely be there Marie, I’m not even going to try to hang with you in the bar this time, slow and easy does it for me. I’ll drive if ya’ll need me to. I’m also thinking about doing the judo tourney up there too if I can figure out how to do both grappling and judo at the same time… walkie talkies might be necessary, but I’m just good like that.

    gotta go, check ya’ll later!

    🙂 😀 8)

Hey XcashXmoneyX, you’re stand up can’t be all that bad if your competing, just relax and do your thing.

Tara, Tara, Tara, where have you been?

    Tara

I think the judo is on Saturday. No gi grappling is on Sunday. Unless you are going to go gi too and that is on Saturday. Who has walkis talkies?? They can make for a lot of fun 😀

Sooooo….any tips on fighing Ms. Ranked # 1?!!! Am I out of my league?

    jules

Where should I begin? Train some Muay Thai, so you can dominate the stand-up geme and clinch, and work sprawls too.

Her stand up is more streetfighting style, doesnt throw strikes correctly, muscles in the clinch, throws weak knees and stomps on your feet.

She’ll come rushing in with a few punches looking to push you into a corner or against the ropes/cage. A well timed body kick, or knee would really throw her off.

She’s strong though, so eat your wheaties!

    “and stomps on your feet.”

I know a few people that dog this tech but its actually very good and very legal. I know that I dont pay attention to my feet getting stomped and if it did happend, it would hurt like a MOFO and would distract my game for a min. Im just not smart enough to think of it when I AM fighting. 8)

    Cool!

Do i have a secretary now? 😆 Please don’t piss off my Greta, secretary. Greta, I just talked to some people and I think I may be in town the weekend of Feb, 12th, if all things go okay. Tell Adrian good luck from me this weekend!!!!!

(The “bathroom buddies” comment comes from the fact that I first met Tara when she was in the stall at the hotel during weigh-ins…it was definately surreal talking to this fighter I’m in total awe of, while I half suspected was taking a dump–just kidding, Tara–don’t hit me!!)

    😆 Jules

Thank you J! Adrian will be thrilled- we were jsut talking about you this afternoon as a matter of fact- He put a picture of you two on the wall, and one of his hands disappeared (in the picture it lookes like it could be on you butt) I said ” where the hell is your other hand!” Anyway its a cute picture. You have alot of fans at our gym.
Once again, we would be thrilled if you spent a few days training with us. – I hope your secretary gives you this message- 😈
