Forgot the other upsets on this card, I am fucking crushed. CRUSHED. Apparently she was losing the stand-up as Ham’s disciplined boxing was unmanageable for the usual CRUSH-style of Hisae. This is a sad sad sad day 🙁 I was getting hyped for an eventual Ward/Watanabe showdown.

    The name sounds Korean.

I rated Hisae Watanabe #4 among female MMA fighters 125lbs and under. If she is really this good, we’ll probably never hear about Ham Su Hi from the Japan MMA scene again.

    Watanabe vs Ham

It seemed like Ham succeeded at everything she intended to do, defying pre-fight expectation.

Watanabe did not look on top of her game.

Gravity, a Japanese news blog dedicated to Women’s MMA, posted the post-fight interview of Ham. According to Ham, she only trained MMA for a month prior to the bout (being a kickboxer for three years) and got through the 2nd round grappling only because her boyfriend who does train MMA talked her through what to do.
