😆 Not bad, it only took until fight night to finally announce the 8 women that will be competing in the tournament. Also, some clarification as to how the tournament will work. Basically, there’s a 125 lb tournament and a 135 lb tournament, with the winners fighting each other in an “absolute winnerâ€

Some more details of the Tournaments are here

    note:
    135lbs
Miesha Tate vs. Jan Finney seems it was draw.but for the tournament, referee Sean Brockmole had to chose the winner like the last StrikeForce 4 men tournament…

“The judges indeed called it a draw, and so Osbourne requested a two-minute “sudden deathâ€

Doesn’t sound too well planned if the event of a draw needs to be discussed.

“Finally, they decided that Brockmole would choose the winner. He rose Tate’s hand”.

What criteria went into his decision, anyone know?

I think the bigger question is…..who is this Caitlin Young??? All 3 of her fights lasted a total of 1:53. Granted, she wasn’t knocking out Tara LaRosa or Amanda Buckner or Debi Purcell, but still…..a :22 second KO, a :38 second KO and a :53 second KO is a pretty good nights work. 🙂

yeah Kaitlin is another stand-up transitioning girl i am lookin forward to, who could also possibly beat any of those top ranked fighters already…but, i think should still have some more gradual picked fights to hone her ground first…

😆 the other question is…why Bodog has reporters who are nuttier than a fruitcake…

thats the same thing what i have thought. so i googled as always… not so much info about her though 🙄

“Kaitlin Young, who is a training partner of Kelly Kobald and hits like a truck.”
A striker who trains with Kelly Kobold..

Ginele Marquez Vanessa Porto, Sarah Kaufman, and now Kaitlin Young? 135lbs class is getting crowded and hot.

Wow…I’m sorry we missed it. Cash is tight right now so, even though we wanted to see Tara LaRosa, we dedided we couldn’t justify the cost for one fight. I was concerned that no other names were ever announced. Just one more and I might of been there. It just seemed weird that no names were mentioned. If I would have heard Jan Finney’s name on the card, we would have been there for sure. Sad to here she got hosed…I hope that doesn’t mean she won’t return to Evansville. 🙁

u edited and cheated !!! oh wait, i dont deny coz its true but…
I MUST be a nuthugger of Roxanne Modafferi as a Japanese and as a “Senpai” of her uni. in Japan. its kinda miracle to see a girl who studied Japanese in our uni becomes a pro-MMA fighter, coz our uni is full of nerds and geeks, or phsychos 😳 omg im not comming to post silly thing like this.

Next Hook n Shoot will be held in March, 2008,

Here is how I rated the HooknShoot women who competed 11-24-07:

    1. Tara LaRosa
    2. Kaitlin Young
    3. Cody Welchin
    4. Miesha Tate
    5. Jan Finney
    6. Suzi Smith
    7. Patti Lee
    8. Nicdali Calanoc
    9. Jen smile
    10. Jordan Sprague
One question needs answering: Why was David Overfield wearing Miesha’s shorts ❓ 😆

I remember kaitlin Young from muay thai tourny’s here in the mid-west. She used to fight at 150 or so… she is tall; maybe 5’9-5’10. very nice too if you get a chance to talk to her. There is a good ametuer mauy thai fight on youtube between herself and kat johnson (also a muay thai fighter thats done well in mma)- i think thats their most recent before this tourney.  many new- talented faces, this adds more to the competitive womens pool. Most of the girls were younger too- gawd its making me feel so much older 😯
I wonder who they are gonna have face kaitlin in febuary?

Tara LaRosa said this about Caitlin on mma.tv:

“Kaitlin Young is the next generation of womens MMA. If I have to fight her, I sure as hell, am not standing with her. I’ve never seen someone in womens MMA use timing, distancing, reach, and form to such a pristine level. This girl’s standup is even better than Gina’s. I was shocked. Although, I shouldn’t be… I know where she trains. I’m excited to see how her career unfolds. ”

Just curious, were the women’s rounds scheduled for 3 minutes or 5 minutes?
