Ok, I know there are many of you fighting on the Hook n Shoot card Nov 6th, but how many of you are fighting in the grappling tournament the next day? What is the grappling tournament called? How are the divisions broken down or is it just all one weight class? And is it true that the winner of the grappling tournament gets a shot at ADCC??

I’m doing the tourney the next day if I don’t get decapitated in my fight on sat. They are matching everyone up according to weight and setting the brackets so it meets in the middle. If I was going to put money on the winner I would bet on Roxanne Modefferi. I don’t know what’s out on the west coast but she’s the best the east coast has to offer.

The name of the tournament is called Last Woman Standing.

Ask Jeff Osborne if the grappling tournament will be RANKED, RATED, both or neither.

There will be one men’s bout:

Scott Henze vs Bill “The Truth” Hill.

The HooknShoot TV program is back on. It announced the matchups, but one or two have fallen through judging by what I’ve read on this forum. I’ll tune in next Sunday to see whether or not they provide a new episode with a revised fight card, or run the same program up ’til November. Hopefully, I’ll find a more updated lineup that I can relay to you.

O.K. now, I read that Bill Hill got KOed at XFO. No word yet on whether or not this will nix his scheduled bout with Scott Henze.

Henze is a large local draw. It makes sense that he is on the card as a safety fight. The crowd always goes nuts when he enters the ring.

Ahh the crowd. Imagine how sparse a fight crowd would be, if to gain admission, they had to prove that they were ever in a fight themselves.

I know that this may sound crazy but Henze can almost get the crowd going the way that Riley does. He is defenitly a crowd favorite. So you know that he will be bringing in some of his own favorites to watch. But I know from living here locally that we are all stoked about the womens event.

It is actually weird that I have run into someone at a local grocery store here and they have asked if my hubby and I were one of the crazy people that are always in the crowd. To make a long story short he is associated with HnS and we sat there in the store for a good 45 min. talking about this and the evolution of womens MMA and how it is coming around. I just find it so amazing that a year ago if you asked someone in a store what MMA was they really wouldn’t have a clue, but now if you ask them, let alone about womens mma people are in on it and are wanting it.

    Latest lineup so far:

Lisa Ward (Washington) vs. Mandy Stewart (Australia) 125lbs
Sara Boyd (New Mexico) vs. Molly Helsel (Hawaii) 135lbs
Jan Finney (Ohio) vs. Rikki Burnett (Kentucky) 135lbs
Shelby Walker (Texas) vs. Adrienna Jenkins (Hawaii) 130lbs
Tara LaRosa (New Jersey) vs. Linda Langerak (Canada) 135lbs
Kelly Kobold (Minnesota) vs. Greta Hicks (Wisconsin) 160lbs
Ginelle Marquez (Washington) vs. Roxanne Modafferi (Massachusetts) 135lbs
Julie Kedzie (Indiana) vs. Jen Case (Kansas) 155lbs
Jennifer Howe (Utah) vs. Heather Soderquist (California) 135lbs
Erica Montoya (California) vs. Megumi Fuji (Japan)

    – Too bad neither Neff nor Yuka Tsuji will be fighting.
    – Is Erica Montoya/Megumi Fuji at 125?

Unfortunately I won’t be able to do the grappling tournament, or even watch. We got our tickets yesterday and I spend all of Th and part of Fri travling. Then we leave at 7:00 AM Sun morning. I bummed I can’t stay longer, especially because I havn’t been off the island in over a year. We originally planned on leaving late Mon, but the difference in the ticket price was over $200, since I’m scrounging as it is we just can’t do it.

I will however, be present for the after party! (If I’m not in the hospital that is 😆 )
