In some circles, UFC fans wish for the old days with 1 round, far fewer rules and much more blood and guts. What say this bunch?

I like both but miss the old style UFC in terms having pure fighting styles like Karate vs kickboxing taking on each other or stuff like wrestling vs boxing. But think on whole the new UFC is more action packed in the old days guys be on ground in the guard for every. I do like the old name for MMA which was NHB just sounds more macho NO holds barred ,now thats macho mixed martial arts kinda sounds sissy.

MMA will never be mainstream although it is bigger.
I don’t think that MMA should be major sport like american football, right now it is too much commecialised.
I think women should start now in the UUFC but that is another discussion.
Exactly what Vincent says, the old school stuff was cool and I like it sometimes mor to watch that than some new UFC matches.

as long as part of the appeal is beating the crap out of someone when they are down – this ‘sport’ is always going to be on the fringe and not legal to stage in the majority of states.

Even with the new rules, it’s pretty bloody to me.

yea and it isn’t it odd that many people love it when it is? I am a bi flummoxed by the entertainment of the intentional injury of others.

I like the new UFC, it makes people see it more as a sport I think, and not a brutal barbaric fight club.
