Tickets for September 10, 2005 HOOKnSHOOT are on sale now!

KELLYN HEUHN vs. VICTORIA REMINGTON (130LBS)
    JULIE KEDZIE vs. TBA
    ADRIENA JENKINS vs. JAN FINNEY

I already order my front row seats just to see JulesK in action. (Oh, and adriennaaj too, ah hell, I’m going to see all the women.) Everybody do there best and make it worth the price of admission.

Yay!!!! Come see us! I DID have an opponent….but she pulled. Again. Maybe I should fight myself for being stupid enough to think the match would actually ever happen, despite Jeff’s efforts (mucho congrats to him on the new baby, BTW!!!)

…no more negativity now. Bad Jules 😡

Anyway, I’m really excited to see all these girls again. AJ!!! I hope you’re there!!!

Well, we were talking to a guy who was interested in fighting at that event but it would be his first fight and he was concerned that they couldn’t find a fighter his size with an equal amount (zero) of experience. My wife volunteered me for an opponent, to which I reply, “What the hell are you thinking?”
To pay her back I ought to volunteer her for your next opponent. 😆
That will show her. tee hee

    I just want to say……

    IM PISSED OFF.

someone (i wont mention names) from our camp who is NOT my manager comitted me to fight on that card. i was not aware i was scheduled to fight before NOVEMBER until the night before last when Jeff called me. this SHITUATION is being taken care of.

Sorry, I am NOT fighting on that card. My manager is DUSTIN WARE and if I am needed to fight, that’s who to contact.

Besides, she and I already fought.

    This is ON the record.

This blows, I already gave up the cash just because of the 3 female fights and 2 of them weren’t officially even scheduled and the one that is, is looking for an opponent. Chicks better be throwing leather or we will be very disappointed.

ooooh, i was going to get to fight Kellyn for a bit until Linda Langerak turned up w/out an opponent, which would have been really fun. Actually committed then flaked again. Sorry to Linda and Jeff, other personal issues and responsibilities came in the way. Think Linda and I would have been real entertaining since we’re both coming off losses and both just like to fight whomever we can. I wish there was more of a pool of women for promoters to draw from.

I’d like to see Linda Langerak fight again. She gave Tara a really good fight. I definitely think Heather vs. Linda would be a good match up!

Well, looks like I’ve got a fight anyways! Somebody stepped up right away, but I’ll wait to say who since all the crap that’s fallen out with this. I’ll wait till its on the poster, or Jeff posts it on fightworld.

And my fight with Kellyn is on the record… her win, and also my g&p’ing her before my stupid mistake. Would have been interesting to see how a rematch would have turned out, now that we both have more experience. Hey, ever think about having an event in Texas, Jeff? Maybe she’ll rematch me in MY country, with our good ol’ Texas Gel Gloves, hard as a rock. And elbows, love them elbows. Or maybe she’ll just avoid fighting me – bad for the career?

Anyways, gods willing there will be at least one women’s fight. Evansville, Indiana, September 10!

    Jeff’s the BEST!

Did you guys have some sort of falling out after the fight or are you just grumpy b/c you made a mistake and lost? Not taking sides though, you two seem kind of fired up! Well, at any rate, good luck. I hope you get your fight on the 10th.

Ah, thanks Rikki. I take that as a complement. She seems deticated and ballsy and also a nice person. So, you gotta respect that!

Have a girl for Julie (about 75%). I feel like shit over that one!

The other fight that is 100% is MOLLY vs. VICTORIA! Bother are pretty dang slick on the ground and both come to fight.

Talking to both made my day.

Looking to add 3-4 women’s fights to the November show.

Thank you SOOO MUCH Jeff for getting me on the card. I had expressed interest in fighting in the next HNS, but was looking at getting on the November card.

With such a small pool of fighters, I am really suprised that it is so common for fighters to pull out (for other than personal business or work – legitimate reasons). It seems to me that this has been a big year for women’s MMA, more fighters coming onto the scene. Well actually I am NOT suprised, because like most of the legitimate fighters here, I have had more backouts than fights.

Victoria – I am excited to meet you and the other fighters – lets put on a great fight! This is going to be a good one, I can tell! I actually had an offer to fight you in the Texas show, but somehow it ended up that I was the only one who thought the fight was confirmed 😯 ! Won’t get into details, but I had my bags packed and was ready to go, and never heard from anyone again… 🙁

Heather, I would have LOVED to be there to see you and Linda fight – that would be one for the books.

Julie – can’t wait to see the cheerleader on crack again! Hopefully your fight works out, or if not – please try to come up, it would be awesome to hang out. I talked to Adrienna today and she is going to try and come too.

Well Evansville – here I come! Biggest Little City in Indiana – watch out! 😉

Greatlaughter – Heather, right? – No I’m not grumpy about losing, I can deal with that just fine. And Kellyn was very sportsmanlike, I can’t fault that. If I’m grumpy about anything, its because I was really getting ready for this rematch and it fell through. This rematch was going to be great – I thought we both had something to gain from it. I guess the video isn’t out to the public.

But I’m really excited about meeting you too, Molly – its going to be a great fight and I’m looking forward to this test of our skills. And it’ll be nice meeting whichever of you great forum people make it!

    See everyone in September,
    Victoria

Ohh awesome!! i am so glad molly was 100% confirmed, atta girl. I am very much going to try to be there, i know molly is in VERY awesome shape since we last saw her. Had a few stand up fights and a really good win against a tough opponent inbetween. If any one is in the area PLEASE support these women!!
I hope linda finds a fight, was such a sweet person.

Jeff told me he had a back-up before things came up that took me out of the fight so I didn’t feel as bad. Next time I tell Jeff I want to fight at HnS I am going to buy my plane ticket and send it to him so he knows I’m coming. Just had a scheduling conflict with Bret/Cesar and some personal health issues that came up. Ok, so I do feel bad.

    Good luck to the girls!!!

A HooknShoot flyer has been hanging in Bob’s Gym for about a week. It looks like the Henze vs Renken re-rematch ain’t happening either. 😕 Scott is matched up against someone else.

I hear ya Mandy – that sucks about your work. I just went through the same thing last month and missed an opportunity to be on the big Superbrawl card because work wouldn’t let me off.

I just signed my new employment contract though – which has a “wrestling clause” in it! 😛

It states that I can take any amount of time off to train or fight as long as it is not seriously detrimental to the company. I better have them define “seriously detrimental” though…

Hey and congratulations again on your big win! Did I hear some rumblings about another big fight in Australia????

i thought the mandy thing was *tentative* for november????? nothing was in stone, someone just mentioned it and we were cool with the idea. i definitely want on the november card though, even if mandy cant make it.

    anyway……

i dont think people are getting my point. i am not afraid to rematch anyone. i do what my manager and trainer tell me to do, not what makes my ego happy, whether there are hard gloves and elbows involved or not. my trainer thinks its stupid to fight the same person for your first two fights. i dont see the wrong in that. plus, other than some gNp its not like i got my ass beat and won the fight on a fluke. we were fairly evenly matched and it showed. maybe in a year for good money, we can talk rematches. dustin ware is the man to see about that horse.

they arent necessarily understanding of the fact that guys have 347059209572 potential opponents and i have like….4. but once again, i do what im told.

victoria and her trainer were also very sportsmanlike. [/u][/i]

I just saw the HooknShoot tv show on WTSN in Evansville this morning. It announced the matchup between Julie Ketzie and Ginelle Marquez. Best of luck to both, and hope more will follow.

Also, http://www.WBAN.com had an article about a pro boxing fight card promoted by Jen Childers. It will take place at Casino Aztar in Downtown Evansville. When will this happen? You guessed it: September 10th! The same day as HooknShoot! 😯

Last year, a historic college basketball exhibition played on the same day as HooknShoot’s mostly female fight card. Now, another fighting event will happen just a few blocks down Court St. from HooknShoot at the Coliseum.

Dude, don’t count on that match this H&S…something came up, and I believe I’m fighting someone else now.

    🙁

It been established that I have shi** for luck when it comes to finding and maintaining opponents. I really DID want to fight Ginelle this time (she is such a badass!!!!) , but I’m not sure that it’s going to happen anymore.

Fingers crossed that I get a fight at all!

Julie Kedzie is now tentatively matched with Anne Deville.

Yesterday, I heard the Veterans Memorial Coliseum is being offered as a shelter for those displaced by Katrina.

How will this affect the scheduled HooknShoot event?

As far as I know, the venue remains the same…I’m not sure what is being done with the building in terms of shleter, but I DO know that we are going to be helping in some way. I’ve been talking to Jeff about doing something with the show to raise money, so stay tuned for what may happen 🙂

Hooray for Gretamobetta whose going to hold my bucket , lol!

I’m rolling in with my crew Friday afternoon/night (weigh-ins at 7, I believe)

I’m excited b/c my teammte Sean Sallee is fighting on the card now!

I warn you, though, i will be a very, very crabby puppy until I get fed after weigh-ins. Like massively whiny and I will try to eat you.

Guess what happened to Julie’s fight.
That’s right, you guessed it, her opponent didn’t show up.
Since Greta came down, the 2 of them just grappled for ten minutes, FIXED.
    😆
Molly flew all the way from Hawaii to have a very short match. We don’t know if it was a fist, a knee, or the floor but Victoria had a tooth knocked out in less than minute.
Not much of a show for the fightergirls. 🙁

Shhhhh about the “fixed” part. 😳 I’m going to be tarred and feathered on MMAtv for THAT one.

Really we just wanted to give them a show–I think everyone in the audience was aware that it wasn’t a real match, just a showcase of female grappling. Greta was AWESOME and completely willing to fight me for real, but Jeff thought that it wasn’t that good of an idea since I had already cut so low (arghhhhh! I’m NEVER the right weight!!!)

I was pretty pissed about my opponent pulling out, I have to say. However if she really was injured, I wish her a good recovery and am willing to rematch at another time.

But anyway, thanks for rolling with me Grets! Email me about BRAZIL!!!!And Molly and Victoria, it was great to see you girls again!

Gretamobetta you tapped me fair and square the FIRST time!!! 😈 I think maybe I had you a bit once!

Dude! Molly’s tooth knocking skills scare me! You’ve got some tight boxing, girl! And both Jay and I admire your alcohol tolerance 😆

Marie–Victoria is pretty pysched for the fight and I’m sure she will not let a broken tooth stand in her way. Good luck to you both!

Deb–her name is Anne Deville and I was told she pulled out right before weigh-ins b/c she sprained her ankle running the night before.

I got a little WWE at the event and told the women in the crowd to start training ’cause I need some fresh opponents. Now I’m a little embarrassed. 😳 Oh well. It’s a show, right?

congrats to molly, and jules…it sucks about your opponent. what the hell was she doing running? she couldn’t weigh much more than me if its the same girl im thinking it is.

speaking of which, im dropping to 115, but im going to stay around 125 for the november show because i think all the fights jeff had in mind for me were at that weight. there are some TOUGH girls at 115 though!!!!!!! ill have my work cut out for me.

so, that means in a couple weeks i go back on the stupid diet and back in the gym full time and back to drinking a gallon of yucky water every day. billy rush is seriously going to make my life miserable.

hopefully the womens show turns out to be more entertaining than this last one.

“not let a broken tooth stand in the way”?

Do you realize what you just said? A TOOTH. A tooth hurts and costs thousands of dollars to repair. Plus you need time to heal, and you can’t train.
Marie, I’m sorry- I’d definately be emailing or calling her agent right about now to see what’s up….

Eeek, Rox! Don’t shoot the messenger–I’m just repeating what she said to me.

daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayum jules you looked like you were in supa shape for that fight….greta too. it sucks there was too much of a size difference for a fight, but a grappling match is better than nothing.

hope victoria has good insurance, if i didnt i wouldnt be able to fight because im always at urgent care or the ortho for something.

too bad there werent any pics of the actual molly/victoria match but i guess theyll be up later on sherdog or somen????

Victoria will be fine I think. We talked a bit after the show. The injury is not as bad as it seems I think because she had an existing bridge and she said it was already a little loose before the fight. She said the tooth actually came out when her face hit the mat, not from the kick.

Don’t worry Marie, I am sure she will be there and ready to fight – she’s a toughie!

I had a great time with all ya’ll in Evansville! Anthony and Maura – it was really nice to meet you, wish we could have hung out after but I didn;t have your digits. Those pics are too funny! The Molly Shuffle… 😀 I’m pretty retarded huh???

Speaking of digits – Jules and Gretta e-mail me with yours. I want to send you my pics, and I’ll post some here if I can find any that are appropriate… 😛 Jules my drinking skills might be OK, but I really gotta work on my non-hangover skills though – we were cutting it pretty close getting to the plane on time the next day! Oh and Kaleo says howzit to everyone!!!

Can’t wait to see everyone again! I love Evansville and all the people (Heath and Tana are the bomb!) and I want to come back soon! Thanks Jeff for all your hard work on another successful show!!!

Sorry about the overly short fight, everybody… I knew that bridge was going to go eventually, and it was just sheer damn BAD luck that it happened then. The reason they stopped the fight was that the bridge going out loosened the neighbor teeth a lot, but they’re hardening back up just fine. I got xrays at the dentist today, and there’s no damage to the roots. The part that really sucked about that fight was that I was fine to continue if it hadn’t been for the bridge.

I’ll look like a hick but I will be at 100% for KOTC. I’m waiting till after to get the new bridge. Since its going to cost me an arm and a leg, even after my insurance, I’m not going to risk getting done before.

Molly, you’re a great opponent and I hope we get to do it again sometime. And I promise to not have shitty bridges getting in the way. 😳

Right on Victoria, and I hope we can meet again too. I know it would be a good match. I know you were still ready to go, but we gotta respect the refs. It was definitely bad luck.
