    Middleweight is 135, AJ.

Sorry Rox, if I could I’d fly you out I would but with the wedding and all, I’m just strapped.

I feel like I’ve been hit by a bus today, so I think I’m training hard enough. It’ll be a fun time for sure!

Hey!! Thanks! Good to hear from you Karla! What’s new?

Hook, if Amanda wasn’t tough, I wouldn’t be interested. I’m flying out tomorrow afternoon. I had to work today and only got Friday off. That’s life, eh?

Well, again, thanks for the good wishes all.

    Hi ther,

Despite all your well wished, my family, my training and all I tapped to a guillotine last night at 1 minute and 17 seconds of round one. 😕

I felt great and had a fricken blast and was really sorry I got caught and couldn’t continue.

Sorry to disappoint anyone who was cheering me on.

I’m not overly upset because I went in there and fought unafraid. Wishing we could start back at the beginning, of course, but that’s the great thing about MMA!

Props to AManda, she is a really, really nice person and I couldn’t be happier that I had the opportunity to fight her.

Hey, it’s Heather Soderquist’s Mom. She fought an awesome fight with Amanda in Montana. She was agressive, quick and ready. I am extremely proud of her and was there to watch the fight. Heather, you are the BEST. You learned from the fight and had fun…be proud and get back in there….

Amanda, it was a pleasure to meet you after the fight…and congratulations on retaining your belt…I think Heather and you will be in the cage again.

Heather…no one who was cheering you on was disappointed in your performance! The most important thing is that you got in that cage and fought a good fight and were unafraid. That makes you a winner in my book. Love ya…mom

Thanks Heather for the posts and MOM! It is so refeashing to see the amount of support you have. But most importantly the amount of support you give the people who participate in MMA and choose to fight you is phenomenal.
As for me about 2 years ago I met a women who wanted to fight. She had the fire in her eyes but she didn’t want to hit/hurt me 😉 She was trainning for her first cage fight.
She tore into that cage, putting fear asside, she took the girl down, almost got caught in an arm bar, passed guard and gave blows that I didn’t see coming from the same sparring partner I had 2 weeks earlier.
I haven’t seen or trainned with Heather since, but the progress and professionalism you have brought to the sport is extraordinary. 😀

    Thanks…Karla

oh my, now i’m getting teary at work.

i’m also surfing the net at work…my bad.

thanks karla. i think of you all the time. especially since i rarely get clocked with a left hook, thanks to you. big lesson. and i think it would be fun to train with you again. but then i remember that left hook… 😯

seriously, thanks so much. i still pull my punches when i spar, but i’m getting better letting a little more through. that’s just me! i save my ‘fight’ for the fight.

Dlirag – I didn’t pull guard before the guillotine, the choke was finished standing. I’m not really a pull the guard sort of fighter.

Heather, thanks for putting on a great fight. The most important thing to me is that people watched our fight and left the arena impressed with our level of skill as fighters not “female fighters”, and I think you and I accomplished that Saturday night. Thank you for introducing me to your family, they are such great people and Jay and I both felt lucky to have met all of you.

    Thank you and I agree!

I do think we should have been able to choke some of the people that wanted our picture though.

You take care & train hard!

    Amen!

    Congrats Amanda

fyi: that is supposed to be “refreshing” in my last post

Heather… anytime, also I am not as obsessed about trainning like I used to be, so even if you’d like to just hang (but the mats are in the garage still)…I moved to Elk Grove, CA…just outside of Sac.

Now look Kelly, I live in Folsom so I think the bunch of us should go out and live it up one night when Heather is here. Debi, where are you?

Yes Ms Heather is getting married to Bret Bergmark…one of the Gracie Fighters – go figure! He is one really nice guy and already calls me Mom…I love it.

Amanda I couldn’t agree with you more….you girls were professional from beginning to end….and it is obvious that you are both in it for the technical, strategic “fight”! We enjoyed meeting you equally as well and hope to see you again (maybe not with my daughter in a choke hold however)… 8)
