Do any of you belong to a women’s fight team? There aren’t any in my area, but I would really like to see one come together. How many ladies are there in the Portland area who would be interested? . . . . Just curious.

IF there are any interested women in the MN twincities are interested in training with other women. Team Bison has 5 or six women who train on a regular basis.

I can’t even get other women to stick around! If they do actually sign up they only come to class every once in a while. Where are all the females who are dedicated to their training?….because they’re not in Lexington.

Man, would that EVER be nice, to hae a whole team of ladies to train with!! As is, I’m the only student, out of probably around 15, that shows up to EVERY practice session… And the ladies are worse than the men, only coming to maybe one a week. 🙁
I will be moving to Tucson, AZ, in April, though. If anyone in Tucson, or even in the Phoenix area, would be interested in starting something like this, please feel free to contact me!! You can email me at: ktnzgtklws@aol.com.

it’s really hard to get women to continue training mma. I even wonder why I do it sometimes. Don’t get me wrong, I totally love it, but sometimes wonder why I can’t get into something more girly that doesn’t require me to get punched & kicked in the face. (I can’t actually give it up, I love it too much)

Women quit for a lot of reasons. I’ve been training for 7 years ands seen a lot leave.
-It hurts. Getting thrown around & hit- sometimes not the easiest way to get in shape.
    -Smelly guys.
-improper safety gear-they need to invest in proper gear. Chest protectors- I got one from ringside that works. Most male instructors don’t take this into consideration. Also makes you less self-conscious about all the chest on face contact.

LOL – MMA is my answer to all the high maintenance girly-ness that I have in my life!

It would be neat if female MMA teams could compete in some IFL style format. 😀

My husband and I own a gym in Portland / Milwaukie area.

I have women’s only BJJ / kickboxing classes and do not allow men in the training area during class. I started them a few months ago and have three women who regularly attend. I don’t see these women ever fighting. But it is definatly nice seeing a few females regularly show up for training. I don’t think I could make it work if I were a male or if these women had to train with men.

Lady Luck- shoot me an e-mail if you’d like to train sometime.
