Who make gi’s specifically for women? I bought a Gameness gi for my gf but it seems too baggy for her even thou its supposed to be the right size. I’d like to get her something more form fitting, since baggy gi’s have more material to grab.

Atama makes a women’s cut gi. Also, most of them shrink over time from being washed. If you wash and dry it on warm or hot once or twice, that will also help shrink it up.

I love my Atama women’s gi! But be warned, it’s got really BRIGHT hot pink stitching on it. It’s not that clear in the picture. All the guys in my academy were like “Cute new gi!” when I wore it for the first time…a bit embarrassing…

I was going to get one of these for Maura’s Christmas present. Unfortunately, she retired from training last month. 😥

The whole point of the PM system is so you can send a message privately. There is no need to tell everyone else that you sent a message that doesn’t concern us. 😈

    Much love,

How is the cut different on the girl’s Atama gi vs. the guy’s version? If its the same, I’m better off getting the guy’s version, since its cheaper.

BTW, my girlfriend is 5’3″ and 130lbs.

A bit off-topic but along the same lines as women’s gear: my gf has a 34C chest and needs some support. What chest accessories do you recommend for rolling?

I don’t mess with chest protectors or anything, just a good sports bra. Hanes makes a seamless one that is like 86% nylon and 14% spandex. It’s the only sports bra I will wear – it’s the only one that I feel actually works. You have to replace them every year or so because they lose their elasticity, though.

I can’t really compare the women’s and men’s Atama gi cuts, because I don’t have access to a men’s in my size right now. However, I’m 5’2″, about 115 lb and my women’s gi is size F2. It fits really well and is not baggy anywhere. There’s very little extra material on the sleeves, especially, to grab on to. I also think it’s really comfortable and easy to move in..

I think my concern with buying a men’s gi was that I’d be too small for most men’s sizes and that they would fit strangely.

I wear Ouano gi’s…they seem to fit well even though not specifically a ‘women’s gi’. In fact, a lot of the guys find they have to buy the next size up from what they reguarly buy because they don’t have a lot of excess fabric.

I love competing in my Ouano as the sleeves fit really nicely…nothing for them to grab.
