The UFC held its second female fight on April 13, Bantamweight "Alpha" Cat Zigano faced off against former Strikeforce champion Miesha Tate. Zigano defeated Tate and will now move on to coach in "TUF 18" later this year opposite Ronda Rousey, current women's Bantamweight UFC champion. Zigano won in Round 3 against Tate with a TKO, landing three knees and a standing elbow. Both Rousey and Zigano will serve as opposing coaches on "TUF 18" airing on FOX Sports 1 in September and are expected to face one another in a fight this coming December.
Invicta FC announced their next fight card taking place on July 13, in Kansas City, Mo. Invicta FC 6 will be headlining a rematch between former Strikeforce rivals Marloes Coenen and Cris Cyborg. This will be the first Invicta FC featherweight title event. It is a co-main event with Invicta FC strawweight champion Carla Esparza on the card against undefeated Jewels titleholder Ayaka Hamasaki.
