| Rousey Presented UFC Belt and Set to Defend It Against Carmouche |

Today on UFC on Fox 5 Press Conference, Dana White handed Rhonda Rousey the first ever female UFC belt! Rousey will be defending her UFC bantamweight title on UFC 157 February 23, 2013 in Anaheim, CA against willing and able, Liz Carmouche.
“I’ve got a lot of respect for Liz,” said Rousey. “She’s the only one that really stepped up and said she wanted this fight right now, and it speaks a lot to her. When the other girls come around and want to come to the big show, they know where I’m at.”
While many were expecting the Rousey vs. Cyborg fight, Carmouche was wanting this fight.
"That was obviously the fight we wanted to make at 135 pounds," White said. "We worked hard to make that fight. I believe that this fight will happen and I truly believe the next fight will be the Cyborg one."
"Let me put it to you this way," he said. "You ask me these questions and I tell you truth. A lot of people don't like the truth when I say it but that’s who wanted to fight her. People aren’t kicking the doors down at Zuffa to fight her."
Cyborg has stated that she is willing to drop to 135 but would like more time.
Other fights announced for this card include Urijah Faber vs. Ivan Menjivar and Dan Henderson vs. Lyoto Machido |
