Invicta FC 4 Main Card Results: Esparza Wins 115lb. Title
Saturday, January 05, 2013

Even with a snag in the live PPV streaming from Ustream, Invicta FC 4 still brought some amazing fights once again! Main Card Results Below:

Calderwood vs. Von Plettenburg:
Calderwood's impressive striking skills (not to mention her great scottish skirt!) prevailed in the first main card event tonight on Invicta FC 4 with a unanimous decision over Von Plettenburg (30-26, 30-27, 30-27)

Gomes vs. Yamanaka:
Gomes gaining all three rounds with strikes and overall control of the action for a unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28)

Nunes vs. D'Alelio:
D'Alelio controlled the first round with takedown and control. Second round had Nunes throwing an illegal upkick losing a point and a big slam by D'Alelio. Winning by unanimous decision over Nunes (30-26, 30-26, 30-26)

Smith vs. Pennington:
A grudge match between these two is apparent tonight. Pennington took the first round with Smith coming back in the second round with a vengeance and even show-boating a little in the third. Smith winning via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

Baszler vs. Davis:
For the rematch (Davis lost by a split decision in the first matchup), Davis taking the first round with submission attempts. Coming out with a bang in the second and Davis ends up controlling the round from the bottom in a very close round. And a great fight for the Ally-Gator as she gets a rear naked choke on Baszler in the 3rd at 0:58.

Esparza vs. Hyatt: 115 lb. Title Fight
Esparza getting the takedown at the start of the fight. Hyatt showing some good defense but Esparza won the first round. Again Esparza controlling round 2 even with some submission attempts from Hyatt. Hyatt with some good strikes and double leg takedown defenses was followed by a judo throw by Esparza in the 3rd as Esparza starts to slow. In the fourth, Hyatt escapes an arm bar and gets in some ground and pound before standing it back up. Hyatt showing no quit but unable to pull a win with Esparza taking the 115 lb. belt with a unanimous decision (50-45, 50-45, 50-45)
