Cindy Dandois Out of Match with Gina Carano
Sunday, April 10, 2011

It was the dream of ranked #9 ranked Cindy Dandois to face her idol Gina Carano, but that will have to wait until early next year.

Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker, in an interview with MMAFighting.com Ariel Helwani, stated he offered the fight to Dandois, but she had to back out because she’s 3 ˝ months pregnant. This was surprising, as Dandois had just fought three weeks ago in Belgium, defeating Jorina Baars.

According to Ais “The Bash” Daly, a fellow European fighter, a lot of the times in Europe the fighters only have to sign a declaration saying you aren't pregnant, and unlike the U.S., there is no pregnancy test required. Dandois obviously didn’t realize she was with child until after the fight.

Coker stated that he would be announcing Carano’s opponent for the June 18th comeback fight in Dallas in the next few weeks, and they had someone in mind to replace Dandois.
