So far verbal agreement only; ... Sometime in Nov '11...

Budd is a striker... I'm afraid she doesn't stand a chance.

Speaking of Julia Budd, somebody here at FighterGirls needs to update hers and Germaine de Randamie’s MMA fight records. Their fight is missing.

Real good test for Rhonda. Up against a solid striker and a very strong fighter.

Is it accurate that Julia Budd was KO'd by Amanda Nunes in 14 seconds last January?

Rousey armbars Budd in 39th second of 1st round, dislocating Budd's elbow in the process. Too bad Budd had to pay for the Sarah D'Alelio incident.

Rousey requested to fight Sarah Kaufmann next then Meisha Tate for the 135 title. This would serve as proper build up for the Cyborg - Rousey super fight. It will be interesting to see this play out.

I agree.
Ronda after all doesn't make the matches.

I assume that was win by technical submission (see Tim Sylvia vs Frank Mir)?

Good win but here's a question : when you're winning matches in rapid fashion what happens when you suddenly find yourself in the later rounds?

How would you SUDDENLY find yourself in the later rounds?

She is probably thinking if this girl is so ready for a title shot why doesn't she stay at 145 and fight me for my title instead of cutting down to 2
135 to fight the 135 champion?

Perhaps, although Cyborg's next fight is already slated. So to go after Miesha first in the meantime makes sense, plus Miesha showed a particular interest in Ronda first, which Cyborg has not yet...and wanting Sarah first for the title shot also makes sense because she needs to earn it and adjust to 135. Sarah's camp may not want to take that risk but we shall see. It is getting more interesting tho..

i think miesha is a great fighter. but she has none absolutely no chance against rhonda. rhonda is too big. to strong. and she too may get a bone broken.

Rousey will cross that bridge when she gets to it. (Or, IF she gets to it?)

Let's not jump ahead of ourselves here. Before we discuss what will happen in "later rounds" let's first see if somebody finds a way to survive the 1st minute, let alone 1st round. Only way anyone can take Rousey to the "later rounds" is to find a way to keep the fight standing, because once the fight goes to the ground, the arm-bar is just a formality (as is becoming more and more evident).

Unfortunately (for majority of Rousey's potential opponents), skill-set required to keep the fight standing against an elite level judoka is not something that can be acquired in couple of years training (as strikers like Julia Budd are attempting to do). Other then another high level judoka only an elite wrestling athlete may have a suitable skill-set to accomplish that. (An olympic medalist in wrestling like Sarah McMann would seem to fit the bill here.)

It can also be argued that even though her wrestling ability may not be at elite level, a freakish physical specimen such as Cyborg Santos may also be successful in keeping a fight with Rousey standing.
