125 lb women’s MMA Division Heats Up

The finals are set for the the Tuff-n-uff/InvictaFC featherweight and lightweight tournaments.

The featherweight tournament kicked off with late replacement Amber Leibrock getting a 25 second KO over Pamela Sorenson. In the other semi-final Paola Ramirez defeated Heather Wilson by unanimous decision.

The lightweight tournament saw Felicia Spencer gets the second round armbar over Leanne Foster and Jessica Richer defeated Janie Konyek by unanimous decision.

The finals are expecting to be in February.

In a non-tournament bout, Brieta Carpenter got the KO over Florina Moeller in 37 seconds.

The highlight of the weekend happened at BlacKOut Fighting Championship in Kansas City, MO.

Jessica Middleton hit a spinning backfist to knock out Holly Torrez in round 2.

Conflict MMA had two female bouts, including a title match in Columbia, North Carolina.

Alexa Conners gained her second promotional title as she submitted Alyssa Vasquez by armbar at 1:01 of round 1 to win the flyweight belt.

Conners, who is also the strawweight champion, will defend her 115 title against Charity Walker in 2015. Walker also won Saturday, submitting Andy Nguyen by rear naked choke in round 3.

San Diego Combat Academy went 3-0 with their women’s team over the weekend.

Besides Richer’s win at Tuff-n-uff, Ilima Lei McFarland and Michelle Montano both got armbar wins at the Xtreme Fight Series in San Diego. They beat Angela Hancock (round 3) and Breanna Bland (round 1) respectively.
