People often think of the women fighters that are on the top like Rhonda Rousey the current women’s UFC champion and not the history behind women’s MMA and all the fighters from the past. I see this a lot since the beginning of the Fighter girls women’s MMA website in 2001 to present. The great thing about this is if you are new to the MMA sport and get your big ticket to fight on the UFC people will come out of the woodwork look you up on google, facebook and twitter to be your fan. Instant fame over night is how I see it! Sure you might fight for a few years get big sponsorships money and fame! I feel this is really short lived because when you are no longer on top of the fight world your fame, sponsorships, and money fade away. Sad to see but true!
Pioneer of women’s mixed martial arts
Fighter girls website was dedicated to the female fighters and fans for fighters and fans to write articles, post pictures and news about women’s MMA. A home for the people to get away from the big websites and forums that hated women in the sport and could post anything without the harassment from the males that didn’t want women fights on the fighters card! The Fighter girls website has always been free to all that wanted to be a part or just read news, and the famous Fighter girls forum. Keeping the site free does cost money so the sales from the Fighter girls clothing line supported the cost of the website and the rebuilds since 2001. Fighter girls is still free to all and without ads or popups that the Fighter girls always hated! I think nothing is more annoying then reading a topic and bam a popup appears!
Women’s mixed martial arts first website
Did Fighter girls care about google traffic? Yes and no! There are not advertisements on any of the Fighter girls pages so if 1 million people come to our site a day to read the news, forum, or any page we make the same amount of money as if 1 person came to the site that still equals $0.00 haha but that was never the Fighter girls intention the site was dedicated to all that want to come by NOT THE MONEY! I watched many companies open up websites, fight promotions under the impression that they were going to make millions either by selling it or ? I don’t know? i have noticed a lot of these websites are gone or moved to twitter, Facebook, and all those other great social media sites. Are these sites here to stay or will they fade away like Myspace did years back?
So to end this topic I will once again tell you welcome to the first and original women’s MMA website, forum, and store! Dedicated to the female fighters and fans so come by and catch up on your history in women’s MMA

www.fightergirls.com was established in May 2001 by Debi purcell pro MMA fighter and was the first women’s MMA website to be launched in the World Wide Web! Crazy right most readers were just kids or not even born yet but no worries. Fighter girls was a place for all people who love women’s MMA to come together and talk share stories and get some recognition that women do fight. During the early years these pioneers of women fighting had a lot of obstacles to over come in a male dominated sport of MMA. I think back to the first all women’s mma card Hook n Shoot revolution in Evansville Indiana and the true warriors that put on a fight that was incredible with back then big name women fighters some retired, some still active in MMA today. I salute these warrior women for the great battles they did in the ring and putting female MMA on the main stream and now the UFC. I hope that the fighter girls site gives you some history of what these women MMA fighters went through in the early days of female MMA. I am truly proud of each and all these women for fighting in a sport that Dana White said he would never have women on his UFC card. I want to also thank Dana White for giving the women MMA fighters a chance and making this a historical event! I wonder will things change and now will MMA be dominated by women?
Thank you for coming to www.fightergirls.com

The sale of the Fighter girls website and clothing brand
Many people keep asking about the sale of the Fighter girls website® and clothing line from the rumors of companies making offers to purchase the Fighter girls brand and website. Currently CEO Debi Purcell says she will keep the company a family value and not sell out to corporate offers. Fighter girls was the first mixed martial arts website in the world for women to come post and get recognition they deserve and the path to what is known as women’s mixed martial arts and today is still free for women to post profiles and for all to read and enjoy. Fighter girls is the worlds first and original women’s martial arts clothing line made for women by women! Debi a pro fighter was tired of wearing men’s clothing because in 2001 there was little or no demand for the females in MMA because there were just a handful of Women fighters.
The future of women’s mixed martial arts
Today women’s MMA has exploded and now more and more big corporations want to reap the profits from this sport, which is great right? Fighter girls is an original brand made by Debi Purcell for women. Fighter girls currently manufactures around 90% of their products in the USA for quality, comfort and the style that looks great! Debi’s big feal is that big companies will take the brand and destroy it manufacturing in other countries for less where quality and fit is not as important as the profits.
Purcell says that being original is important to her and that women’s mixed martial arts was a love and a passion for her so she decided to make the Fighter girls website and clothing line in dedication to the women mma warriors past and present.
