The North American Allied Fight Series (NAAFS) is pleased to make history once again with the first ever all female amateur mixed martial arts event to take place in the state of Ohio. The aptly named, NAAFS “Eve of Destruction” will take place on Saturday September 18th, 2010 at Chapparell’s Community Center in Akron, OH. This will mark the first time that an MMA event to take place in the state of Ohio will be comprised entirely of women’s bouts. The NAAFS established the National Amateur Women’s division in 2008 and Jessica Eye of Independence, OH was crowned the first ever National Amateur Women’s Champion at the 2009 edition of Night of Champions.
Since the inception of the division, the NAAFS has gone on to feature over 20 female bouts with many more to come. Female fighters that have competed in the NAAFS included the aforementioned Jessica Eye, “The Little Warrior” Barb Honchak, Marie Colangelo, “The DNA Princess” Jessica Zomcik, Amanda Wilcoxen, Leitta Suchevich, and many more.
The NAAFS is still in the process of filling this historical event. If you are a female fighter and are interested in competing, please contact NAAFS National Amateur Series matchmaker Nichole Long via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 330-979-0234. More information on NAAFS “Eve of Destruction”, included fight card and ticket information will be available soon at NAAFS.tv.
