UFC President Dana White has made bold statements about women in MMA over the past seven or eight years, with every one of them softening a bit and bit more. White met with several of the Strikeforce fighters including champions Cyborg Santos and Marloes Coenen at the Zuffa Summit in Vegas a few weeks ago with positive responses. Zuffa has made a valiant effort to get better promotional videos and photo shoots done for them as well.
White did an interview with the Forbes Sports Money show on the YES network recently, and finally clarified his stance. Although you won’t see women in the UFC right away, the door maybe open soon.
“I don’t have a problem with women fighting,” White states. “As (women’s MMA) continues to grow, if there are more and more women where you can create an entire division with a lot of talent women, I am all about it”
