Interview Tiffany Time Bomb Van Soest
FG: You just finished school, what did you graduate in? How did you get started in Muay Thai amongst all of this??
T: I got my bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. My interest in muay thai sprung from a lifetime of karate. I started learning and training in muay thai when I was about 15. I couldnt compete until I was 18 because there’s no way my parents would sign a release for that haha.
FG: You’re known for your cardio in the ring, what else have you been working on?
T: I’ve been working on blending different styles and knowing when and how to use them.
FG: Talk a little bit about your fight this weekend, your opponent, working with Lion Fight Promotion and their support of Muay Thai in the US.
T: I’m stoked for this weekend! I don’t know much about my opponent other than she moves a lot. It doesn’t matter. I’m going to do what I do best and will be victorious. As for Lion Fight Promotions, they’re awesome. They treat the fighters really well, they’re organized, and their production is top notch. They’re definitely showcasing some of the top muay thai fighters in the world on thier shows which seems to be drawing more and Americans’ attention to the sport.
FG: Talk about the show “Enfusion” that you are signed with in Holland.
T: Enfusion is kind of like The Ultimate Fighter but for Muay Thai. This upcoming season they’re showing the world what the girl can do and I’m tremendously grateful for the opportunity to be chosen to represent the US on the global stage and test myself against some of the best muay thai women in the world at my weight class.
FG: People are talking about you being the next female face of Muay Thai, how do you feel about that?
T: They’re saying that? Haha. I’m honored to take on that ‘role’ or responsibility. I think it’s great. Never in a million years did I think this is what I’d be doing so to (so far) be doing so well and be considered the new ‘face’ of women’s muay thai is pretty cool. I’m looking forward to progressing in my career and showing the US and rest of the world what women can really do.

FG: In an interview I saw of you, you mentioned a transition into mma. What are your goals for that?
T: Yes I’ve had 2 MMA fights. It’s always been hard to get MMA fights for me at the amateur level due to my experience in striking so when I finally went Pro in Muay Thai, I got flooded with Muay Thai fight offers and opportunities. I’d rather stay active and compete as much as possible whether it’s Muay Thai or MMA because in the past I never knew if/when my next fight was. I still train jiu jitsu and am working on MMA so after these next few fights I’ll definitely be looking to make my pro debut in the cage. My goals for that are to gain experience and see how far if I can take it. If that means Invicta or Strikeforce champ, bring it on! If I have to potential and momentum then look out! I’ll go for it. Go big or go home right? Haha.
FG: Good Luck this weekend and in the future, Tiffany! Fighter Girls wants to support you in any way we can!
T: Thanks so much for taking the time to interview me
