Women’s MMA Wrap-Up

Fight Results

Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Henderson featured two women’s matches. Miesha Tate became the first fighter to submit Marloes Coenen, which she did by a picture-perfect arm triangle in the 4th round of the title bout, earning the Strikeforce women’s bantamweight belt. This sets up a rematch between Tate and Sarah Kaufman, who recently defeated Liz Carmouche by decision. In undercard action, Alexis Davis defeated Julie Kedzie by unanimous decision.

On Friday, Sara McMann defeated Tonya Evinger by unanimous decision at Titan Fighting Championship 19. McMann capitalized on Evinger’s kicks, countering them with picture perfect takedowns and spending the majority of the fight in top position. The smaller Evinger, who took the fight on short notice, worked hard to tie McMann up and neutralize her attacks but McMann clearly won all three rounds.

Casey Noland defeated Nina Ansaroff by 1st round rear naked choke at the Cage Inc: Battle at the Border 10.

Fukuko Hamada defeated Yuko Takagi by 1st round TKO at Pancrase: Impressive Tour 7.

Sarah Alpar defeated Erica Torres by decision at C3 Fights.

Upcoming Fights

Michelle Tyler will be facing Celine Haga at UCMMA 22: Warrior Creed in London. On the same card, kickboxers Anna Zuchelli and Karen Ousey will both be making their MMA debut.
