Women’s MMA Gains M-1/Strikeforce When M-1 Global and Strikeforce struck a deal this week, it was a epic deal in itself. Women’s MMA Gains M-1/Strikeforce

At the M-1/Strikeforce press conference this week, it was announced that M-1 is sharing its television rights in Russia, Korea, and Japan with Strikeforce. This means that FeMMA fighters such as Gina Carano and Sarah Kaufman will be available on tv’s across the globe. With the current popularity here in the states, it is just a matter of time before the world will be exposed to some of the best female talent FeMMA has to offer.

The deal also states that M-1 can do independent cards on their own worldwide. We could see Cyborg fighting in Korea, or Shayna Baszler grapple in Russia. Strikeforce itself said during the press conference that the DREAMS promotion has a deal with Strikeforce/ShoMMA and a Japanese fight card is currently being discussed. DREAMS has a stable roster of women fighters that are dying to be shown in the American spotlight. This is only the first steps on a global phenomenon, and the possibility of a new talent pool in which women’s MMA can draw from.
